College of Education Student Receives GBWA Scholarship
(Jan. 31, 2013) Kyndal Howard, a senior Early Childhood Education major at Armstrong, recently received a $5,844 scholarship from the Georgia Beer Wholesalers Association in recognition of her outstanding achievement as an undergraduate student.
Howard currently serves as a student teacher in a third grade classroom at White Bluff Elementary School. In Spring 2012, she earned a spot on Armstrong’s elite President's List, which recognizes students who received a 4.0 grade point average during the fall and spring semesters in the same academic year.
The Georgia Beer Wholesalers Association established a scholarship fund in 1996 to provide financial assistance to deserving students at public institutions of higher learning within the state of Georgia.
Eligible scholarship recipients must be Georgia residents and full-time students. Assistance is awarded on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement. Scholarships are administered and recipients selected by the financial aid office of the institutions where the students are enrolled
The scholarship, which covers two semesters of Howard’s tuition and university fees, was officially awarded by representatives from the Georgia Beer Wholesalers Association and Armstrong Foundation.
